Pink Metal Flake Ladies Beach Cruiser - The Pink Panther

The Pink Panther - Ladies 26" Beach Cruiser

This is a step by step guide on the building of a Metal Flake Hot Pink Beach Cruiser

Step 1. Purchase original bike form Gumtree for $50
Step 2. Original paint was in good condition, so I scratched the surface using Scotch Brite pads
Step 3. Apply a primer (my primer of choice is an Etch Primer by Concept Paints)

Step 4. Apply a base pink coat to the frame as the metal flake is translucent
Step 5. Mix your metal flake to a Metallic Binder or a clear coat and thin according to the product
Step 6. Apply at least 4 coats of metla flake or until you are happy with the coverage
Step 7. This was a micro flake so no 400 Grit sand was required
Step 8. Apply as many clear coats as it take to cover the metal flake with a smooth finish
Step 9. Leave the paint to cure for 1 week

Step 10. Sand all parts with 1200 Grit sandpaper to remove the "orange peel" effect
Step 11. Buff all parts with a buffing machine and cutting compound

Step 12. Build complete.
