Ladies Beach Cruiser - "The Jule"

This is a step by step guide from absolute scratch, I am even including the original rusty bike :-)

The color is inspired by my bestie Jules, hence the name.

Step 1. Get bike home and prepare for disassembly.

Step 2. Strip the bike down and put all the parts in a safe place to be re-purposed or re-used
Step 3. Apply 1K Etch Primer and Base coat, in this case it is a high gloss black base coat. While I was laying the black and Primer, I had a moment of "Well... while I am spraying I may as well do two bikes...". This has never been done before, this could be a genius idea or it could all fall in a heap. Stay Posted :-)

Can you see my thongs with socks? Do you think I can start a new trend????

Step 4. Mix and spray the Chameleon paint. The powder concentrate has arrived to mix with my Metallic Additive to spray this coming weekend. Can you already see the colour shift from Purple to Green (at the bottom of the bag). VERY EXCITING!!!

Here is a taste of the finished paint:

Step 5. Lay 4 coats of clear over all parts of the bike.
Clear is done. I have shared a picture of the frame only because photos really don't show the colour flip too well. However you can kinda see the green showing through on the frame.
Step 6. Wet sand all parts of the bike with 1500 grit wet sand paper to remove all "Orange Peel" from the top coats. This will give it a murky dull look. It will look terrible, however polish "T98" cutting compound will come to the rescue.

Step 7. Polish all parts with "T98" cutting compound in order to get that deep, glassy high gloss shine, a lot of effort but definitely worth the extra hour or 2 in the end.

Step 8. Put the bike back together with new and recycled parts. Hopefully it will look as good as the picture I have in my head :-)
